About Me
From my experience with film cameras and filters, I adored black and white photography. It allowed me to focus more on my subject and less on color scheme, which resulted in photos that I really enjoyed. Even when using digital cameras, I still prefer to shoot in black and white.
I have always preferred photographing people over objects. I enjoy the challenge of integrating not only the model's appearance, but their personality as well.
Throughout the year, I was inspired by photographer Dorothea Lange. Her work reminded me of the power of photography, as she told a story about the Great Depression through pictures.
What challenged me most was the tedious part of developing, cropping, and editing photos. Eventually, I came to appreciate the experience as simply another part of the process of making art.
Coming out of my first photography class, I realized that taking photos does not have to be just school photos or landscapes. The emotion in an image became more important to me as I took photos.
